Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the websites, applications and services provided by Serey Platform LLC ("Serey", "we", "us" or "our"). By using Serey, you agree to these Terms.

They work together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information, and our Platform Guidelines, which set out what may be published.

Serey is built on a few principles that shape these Terms:

• You own what you create. Your content, your audience and your platform belong to you.
• We keep as little information as possible. We collect only what we need to run Serey, and you can use it without telling us who you are.
• You control your own access. For self-custody accounts, you hold your own keys. We cannot access your account on your behalf.
• You are free to leave. You can export your content and delete your account at any time.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Serey. In countries where the law sets a higher age, such as 16 in the Netherlands, users below that age need permission from a parent or guardian.

You must also be able to agree to these Terms under the law that applies to you.

You do not need to give us your real name. Anonymous accounts are allowed, and do not require an email address or phone number.

Where we do ask for information, for example an email address to help you recover your account, it should be accurate.

You manage your own credentials:

• Passwords. Keep your password secure and do not share your account with anyone else.
• Seed phrases. For self-custody accounts, your seed phrase is created and kept on your own device. It never reaches Serey. Anyone who has it can control your account, and if you lose it, we cannot recover your account for you.

You are responsible for activity on your account. If you believe it has been accessed without your permission, contact us.

You keep ownership of everything you create and publish on Serey.

By publishing, you give Serey a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, store, display and distribute your content, only as needed to operate the Services. This permission ends when you delete your content, except for content published forever and the authorship records described in section 7, which by design cannot be removed.

Content you publish may be visible to others and publicly accessible. You are responsible for making sure your content complies with applicable law and our Platform Guidelines.

You can export your content at any time from your account settings.

Anyone can create their own platform on Serey. Platform owners may set additional rules for their platform, and are responsible for managing their communities in line with our Platform Guidelines.

Our Platform Guidelines apply everywhere on Serey. A platform owner cannot allow what the guidelines prohibit.

Serey aims to make publishing last, while leaving the choice with you.

Proof of authorship. Every post is recorded on the Serey blockchain with a fingerprint of the content, a timestamp and your account name. Serey uses this fingerprint to find your post in storage and display it. The record is permanent, but it holds only the fingerprint, not the content itself. If you delete the content, the record remains but no longer leads to it.

Standard publishing. Your content is stored on S5, backed by Sia, and you can remove it at any time.

Publish forever. If you choose this option, your content is also stored permanently on Arweave. It cannot be removed by you, by us, or by anyone else. By choosing it, you confirm that you understand this.

Take particular care before permanently publishing information about other people. You remain responsible for anything you publish forever.

Subscriptions. Serey currently takes no commission on paid subscriptions. When readers pay you by card, the payment goes to your own Stripe account. We may introduce a fee in the future. If we do, we will announce it in advance, and it will not apply to payments made before it takes effect.

Other earnings. We may charge a small commission on other earnings, such as shop sales. Any fee will be shown before it applies.

Payment providers. Card payments are processed by providers such as Stripe, under their own terms. Serey is not responsible for their operation or availability.

Privacy payments and cryptocurrency. Serey supports payment in some cryptocurrencies, including privacy-focused ones such as Monero and Zano. Cryptocurrency payments may be irreversible, their value can change, network fees may apply, and delays can occur outside our control.

Taxes. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your earnings.

Serey does not provide financial or investment advice.

If you have given us an email address, we may send you emails that are necessary for your account, such as security alerts and payment receipts. Newsletters and product updates are sent only if you choose to receive them. Our Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.

We aim to keep Serey available and working well, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may update, change or temporarily suspend parts of the Services.

Serey is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, Serey is not responsible for:

• content published by users
• the actions of other users or platform owners
• third-party services, including payment providers
• indirect, incidental or unforeseen losses

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have that cannot be excluded by law.

You can stop using Serey at any time. You can export your content and subscriber list, and delete your account from your settings. A deleted account is hidden immediately and permanently deleted after 30 days, unless you sign in to cancel.

We may suspend or close an account if these Terms or our Platform Guidelines are broken, if the law requires it, or to protect Serey and its users. Where possible, we will explain why.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States.

If you are a consumer living in the European Union, this does not take away the protection you have under the mandatory laws of your own country, and you may bring a claim in the courts where you live.

We may update these Terms. If we make significant changes, we will let you know on the platform or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Serey after that means you accept the updated Terms.
