Serey Platform LLC ("Serey", "we", or "us") runs the publishing tools, sites, and apps described in this policy (the "Services").

If you have a question about your information, you are writing to us. We are the company responsible for how that information is handled.

We collect only what we need to run the Services. We do not collect what we do not need. We do not sell your information.

We collect as little as we can to run the product you asked for. We do not sell this data. We do not use it for advertising.

Depending on how you use Serey, that may include:

• Account information. A username and a password. Passwords are stored hashed, so we cannot read them. Email or phone is optional on some account types. Anonymous accounts do not require either.
• Self-custody accounts. Your seed phrase is created and stays on your device. We never receive it and we never store it. We cannot recover that account for you.
• Content you choose to publish. Posts, images, video, audio, comments, and links you put on the site. Unpublished drafts stay under your control until you publish. We strip extra file metadata where we can (for example location data in photos) before content is stored.
• Anonymous publishing. If you use an anonymous account, we do not store a login history for that account, and we do not attach it to your named username in our database. Your named account only records whether its one anonymous slot was used (yes or no).
• Chat. Chat runs on Delta Chat. It is decentralised and end-to-end encrypted. Serey does not store your messages. Delivery uses email servers, which can see who is contacting whom and when, but not the message text.
• Messages to us. Support requests and feedback you send.
• Payments. Card numbers go to our payment providers, not to Serey. See section 10.

When you use the Services, we collect a small amount of technical information needed to keep them working and secure:

• Login sessions: the device type and time of your active sessions, so you can see and end them under Login Activity. We do not show or store the location of your sessions.
• Security logs: limited technical data, such as IP address, used to prevent abuse and keep the Services secure.

We also measure how the platform is used, in anonymised form. See the next section for what that involves and how to opt out.

We use Matomo to understand how the Services are used in aggregate, for example how many people visit a page. Matomo runs on our own servers. No analytics data is sent to Google or any other third party.

We have configured it to protect your privacy:

• It does not set any cookies or store anything on your device.
• Your IP address is anonymised before it is stored, so it cannot be used to identify you.
• Visits are not linked to your Serey account.
• Your browser's Do Not Track setting is respected.
• Raw visit data is deleted after 6 months. Only aggregated statistics are kept after that.

Because no cookies are used and the data cannot identify you, we do not ask for consent before measuring visits. If you would still rather not be counted, use the control below. Your choice is remembered in a small cookie set by this site only, so it is not shared with anyone; if your browser rejects all cookies, it cannot be remembered between visits.

You can use Serey without telling us who you are. We have designed the Services so that anonymity is a real option, not a setting that quietly leaks:

• Anonymous accounts need no email address, phone number or real name.
• Self-custody accounts use a seed phrase that stays on your own device and never reaches us.
• Privacy payments with Monero or Zano need no name, email address or card.
• Chat runs on Delta Chat and is not stored by Serey.
• Analytics are not linked to your account and cannot identify you.

Anonymity has limits that no platform can remove. Your writing style, the times you are active, and details in what you publish can still reveal who you are. If anonymity matters for your safety, avoid personal details in your posts, and consider using Tor or a VPN.

Our content rules apply to anonymous accounts in the same way as to all other accounts.

We do not use cookies for analytics, advertising or tracking.

We store only what is strictly necessary to run the Services on your device:

• A sign-in token, stored in your browser, which keeps you signed in securely.
• Payment cookies, set by Stripe on payment pages only, to prevent fraud.

Because these are necessary for the Services to work, they do not require consent. If you block or clear your browser storage, you will be signed out, and card payments may not go through. Privacy payments are not affected.

Some posts include videos from YouTube. We embed them using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which does not set cookies when the page loads. If you press play, the video loads from YouTube, and YouTube's own privacy policy then applies.

We use personal information only for the purposes below, each based on a legal ground under data protection law:

• To provide the Services and your account, including publishing and subscriptions. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
• To keep the Services secure and prevent abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting users and the platform.
• To understand usage in aggregate through anonymised analytics. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the Services.
• To send newsletters and product updates, only if you opt in. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• To meet legal obligations, such as keeping financial records. Legal basis: legal obligation.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

• Account emails, such as security alerts and payment receipts, are sent only if you have given us an email address. They are necessary for the Services and cannot be switched off while your account is active.
• Newsletters and product updates are sent only if you choose to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• In-app notifications tell you about new posts from creators you subscribe to and activity on your account. You can adjust these in your settings.

Payments are processed by our payment providers, including Stripe. Card details are entered directly with the provider and are never stored by Serey.

When you pay a creator by card, the payment is made to that creator's own Stripe account. This means the creator can see the payment details Stripe shares with them, such as your email address if you entered one at checkout.

Privacy payments. For people who prefer not to share personal details, Serey also supports privacy-focused cryptocurrencies such as Monero and Zano. These payments do not require a name, email address or card, and are designed to keep transaction details private.

Other cryptocurrencies, such as USDC and USDT, are also accepted. Transactions on those networks are public and permanent by nature.

Content you publish is visible to others and may be publicly accessible.

We share personal information only in these cases:

• With creators you subscribe to, who receive the information needed to manage your subscription, such as your email address if you provided one. Creators may export their subscriber list.
• With service providers that help us run the Services, such as email delivery, hosting and file storage. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
• With payment providers, such as Stripe, which process payments under their own privacy policies, including to meet legal requirements and prevent fraud.
• When required by law, in response to valid legal process.
• To protect safety, where necessary to prevent harm or abuse.

We never sell personal data.

Serey is built for publishing that lasts. Our aim is for creators' work to stay available and verifiable over time, independent of any single company. At the same time, we respect your right to remove your own content and your rights under data protection law, so we have designed our storage to allow both.

Proof of authorship. Every post is recorded on the Serey blockchain with a fingerprint of the content (a cryptographic hash), a timestamp and your account name. Serey uses this fingerprint to find your post in storage and display it. The record is permanent and proves what you published and when, but it holds only the fingerprint, not the content itself. If you delete the content, the record remains but no longer leads to it, and cannot be used to recover it.

Standard publishing on S5. Your content is stored on S5, a decentralised storage network backed by Sia. You can remove it at any time, and it is then deleted from our storage.

Publish forever on Arweave. If you choose this option, your post is also stored permanently on Arweave, a network designed to keep data for at least 200 years. Content published this way cannot be removed by you, by us, or by anyone else. We show a clear warning before you choose it.

This gives you the choice: publish in a way you can undo, or publish in a way that lasts. Please take particular care before permanently publishing information about other people.

Serey Platform LLC is based in the United States, and your information may be processed there. Where we transfer personal information from the European Economic Area, we use appropriate safeguards required by law.

Content is stored on decentralised networks rather than a single company's servers: S5 with Sia for standard publishing, and Arweave for content published forever. On Sia, files are encrypted and split across many independent storage providers, none of whom can read them.

• Account information: for as long as your account exists.
• Deleted accounts: hidden immediately and permanently deleted after 30 days. You can cancel deletion by signing in during that period.
• Login sessions: removed after 30 days of inactivity.
• Raw analytics data: deleted after 6 months.
• Financial records: kept for as long as tax law requires.
• Content published forever: permanent, as explained in section 12.

Depending on where you live, including in the European Union, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct information that is inaccurate.
• Delete your information. You can delete your account in your settings.
• Export your information in a portable format. You can download your content under Export My Content.
• Object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
• Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it.

To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. We respond within one month.

The only information we cannot delete is content you chose to publish permanently, as explained in section 12.

If you are in the European Union and are unhappy with how we handle your information, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

We use measures such as encryption, access controls and minimal data collection to protect your information. No system is completely secure, but we design the Services so that there is as little sensitive data to protect as possible.

Serey is not intended for anyone under 13. In countries where the law sets a higher age, such as 16 in the Netherlands, users below that age need permission from a parent or guardian to use Serey.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

We may update this policy. If we make significant changes, we will notify you on the platform or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
